How Long Is Queens Of The Stone Age Concert?

  • Modest Mouse is an American rock band that started in 1993 in Issaquah, Washington. The original members included Isaac Brock as the singer/guitarist, Jeremiah Green as the drummer, and Eric Judy as the bassist. The indie rock band Modest Mouse started making music in the early 1990s and is famous for their distinctive lyrics and energetic concerts. From what is observed, their performances are typically very lively and can include slow songs as well as very energetic ones. But how many hours should the fans expect the Modest Mouse show to last?

The typical concert by the band Modest Mouse can be expected to last anywhere between 90minutes to two hours. This enables them to play perfect set of about 20-25 songs they have in store. Some of their shows have even been known to last for more where they perform when they are invited to perform at big events or big venues. For instance, their performance at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis in 2015 was for 2 hours and 15 minutes. They played a mix of their latest songs and some of the first songs they wrote such as Dramamine and Trailer Trash and some of the songs from their latest albums like Lampshades On Fire and Dashboard.

All of the bands are experienced in performing at festivals, and as such, they determine the duration of their performances according to the time allotted to them. Majority of festivals performances are one hour and a half or two hours long. During their gigs at the club, their concerts are not necessarily long, they can take anywhere between 60-75 minutes. Programs with greater curtailed hours of operation will also reduce their playing time on the earlier side as well. But at their own concerts and shows, the band has a tendency of stretching it to two hours or more. Their show at the The Joint in Las Vegas in August 2018 was just two hours of the band going through every hit they had on record.

A Modest Mouse set usually builds gradually and can begin slowly with the first few songs. The middle part is getting more energetic as they perform some of the best choreographed songs in the middle of the performance. Then they gradually reduce the energy for the last section. Loops are kinda a guarantee at any Modest Mouse show. If the initial set does run quite long, one can be sure that the band will come back for at least one or two encores. They usually perform their best hits during the encore such as Float On or Ocean Breathes Salty. There will be an invigorating encore before which the concert shall end, leaving the concert goers in delight.

Modest Mouse attempts to change their playlists as often as they can whenever they are on tour. As they have eight studio albums worth of material at their disposal, they can afford to play a lot of different songs at each location. To get the full range, they often have to play right to the end when the venues throw them off the stage. , at least since I’ve been attending concerts where the band plays a large number of songs- most Modest Mouse concerts are 90-120 minutes in total length. The hour and a half to two hours enables them to maintain the show compact as well as ensure that the setlist would please both the older fans as well as the new listeners.

It also helps the band to have more extended concerts because their live energy and jams are also impressive. A lot of Modest Mouse songs become longer live renditions of the original songs. They will sometimes do an encore of which they will play longer songs and sometimes start with an upbeat song such as The Good Times Are Killing Me or Styrofoam Boots. Their lengthy, grand songs get an entirely different vibe in the chaotic landscape of a concert. This allows them to bring the material into the realm of improv comedy. When performing, the creative bands have been proven to go beyond the normal set time of other indie bands.

Most importantly, Modest Mouse is a band that shines on stage. Their performances are long, but their reputation within the touring world is well deserved. They headbang like their lives depend on it and they are from Washington state. As soon as Isaac Brock and co start, they never mind playing for hours if it means people will be groovy at the end of the night. Audience members are sure to get the value they paid for when Modest Mouse amps up the volume.
