    When 2024 Concert Tours?

  • Now that we are in 2023, listeners are anxiously awaiting the next year and wondering if their favorite musicians will be on tour in 2024. Especially after the pandemic has affected live events for a couple of years, there’s an appetite for people to see great musicians touring again. Currently, there are no tours confirmed for the year 2024, however, there are several signs that suggest there will be a lot of concerts people should not miss.

One of the most evident is that most of the headlining musicians who would normally embark on tour on an album cycle missed 2022 and some of the 2023 tours after releasing new albums in 2020 or 2021. Big draws such as Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, The Weeknd, and Post Malone have recently put out new albums that have hits on them but have not embarked on global concert tours for such music. With their musical eras ongoing until the present time, it is not surprising that they are only set to start touring in 2024. These are some of the most popular artists at the moment, and therefore, their concerts in 2024 will probably be sold out within the shortest time possible once the dates are released.

Other rock bands that are famous for touring like The Rolling Stones, Elton John, The Eagles, Dead and Company, and Pearl Jam were also inactive in 2022 and hence 2024 could be the right time for them to be back. Such headliners for instance attract massive crowds during festivals, stadiums, and arenas each year. While some of these groups are gradually approaching the age of retiring from the entertainment industry, fans will be encouraged more to attend what may be the last concert shows.

There is also uncertainty about whether Beyonce will go on a world tour in support of her hit 2022 album Renaissance. Forbes magazine reports that like other Beyonce tours which are some of the best live music performances in recent years, Beyonce tours have become a cultural phenomenon must-watch. Her ticket price is unmatched by any artist, and she will bring up the 2024 touring season a notch higher if she tours with this show. The same level of excitement can be observed with each appearance that Rihanna makes, especially as her live performances have recently been expected after she stepped away from music for several years to pursue her business interests.

With regards to other pop divas, Lady Gaga may also launch her tour in 2024 in support of her album which is set to be released this year and Taylor Swift could immediately embark on another tour for her new re-recorded album. Adele has also suggested she would like to embark on a tour in support of 30, which would make 2024 a possible year, assuming she has recovered her voice after the cancellation of her previous residency. Pink is also a touring artist when she has new music on the album and Shania Twain is preparing for her long farewell tour.

In hip hop and R&B realms, none of the rap behemoths such as Kendrick Lamar, Drake, J. Cole, and Kanye West have embarked on proper headline tours in support of even their latest albums. With their stardom reaching its peak after releasing some of the best albums in recent years, any of them announcing a 2024 stadium tour is enough to elicit excitement from the fans. On the other hand, artists like The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, and Cardi B have already experienced touring, and 2024 seems reasonable timing for their second round based on the tour cycle. Of course, even celebrities such as Eminem and Mary J. Blige continue performing for the fans as well when they still have something new to prove.

Some of the pop punk and alt-rock favorites are also strong candidates to fill arenas once again in 2024. That’s right, Blink-182 is getting Tom DeLonge back for the 2023/2024 tour and Paramore as well as My Chemical Romance suggest there may be more shows planned following their comeback in 2022. RHCP also doesn’t take a break either making another tour possible as they have been together for over 40 years. Other legacy bands like Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Linkin Park with guest vocalists have enough songs to tour as they desire.

Of course, much depends on artists releasing albums in 2023 to support touring the following year. But with new rumors of comebacks and release dates for albums by Rihanna, AC/DC, and others, some of the biggest names in music should have new tracks to preview live. And it’s still too early to say what exact dates or venues such predictions might refer to, buzz still implies that 2024 concert lineups could be as stellar as the phenomenal 2022 and usher the arena rock into the new decade on a high note. Many could still change their plans and move tours to 2025 instead, but for music lovers expectations are already pinned on 2024 to be a year of touring. Since there has been little activity in the recent past, demand should push singers/bands who enjoy performing back into touring.
