When Do Abba Tickets Go On Sale?

  • A few days ago, ABBA announced the intended resumption of their music and the release of new songs in the near future, a concert tour, and residency in London starting in 2022.

Swedish pop legends ABBA will release tickets for their 2023 Las Vegas-style concert in London this week. The concert will be called “ABBA Voyage,” come with a live 10-piece band and be performed at the ABBA Arena in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

ABBA had first unveiled the residency show back in 2021 and has now shared that the tickets for the show will go on sale this Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 10 AM GMT. Tickets will be available on Ticketmaster; supporters are advised to sign up on the ticket-selling website for the best chance to access tickets. Ticket sales are likely to be very high for what will be ABBA’s first live performances in over four decades, albeit in holographic form. The last time they performed as a group was in a live performance and that was in 1982.

This spectacular futuristic concert is going down in the state-of-the-art ABBA Arena that was constructed specifically for the occasion. Through motion capture and performance, holograms of 1979 Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny, and Anni-Frid will appear on stage with the band. The technology was developed with the help of four members of ABBA to come up with what they refer to as ABBAtars to perform when the band was at the pinnacle of its glory.

George Wood, CEO of Brit List Entertainment Ltd., which is handling the production of the show, said, ‘The ABBAtars are evidence of the kind of digitization and motion capture, the skills, talents, and details that were paid by everyone in the team that worked on it. ’”

The creators of the show are former members of ABBA and it will include many of the band’s hits, such as “Dancing Queen”, “Mamma Mia”, and “Waterloo”, as well as songs from the band’s 2021 album “Voyage”. The members of ABBA were actively involved in the creative process of the show, although the motion capture process used to create the avatars of the band members required the band

The show is slated to begin on May 27, 2023, with performances six times a week, with Wednesday and Saturday performances being the matinee performances. It reported that the limited run is likely to end by early 2025. It is stated that ticket prices vary between £21 and £175 for every seat per performance, and there are 1054 seats per performance.

People are already expecting that the ticket sales that will commence this week will cause Ticketmaster’s website to go down due to lots of traffic. Even today, nearly four decades after the band ceased to exist, ABBA enjoys the love and support of millions of fans across the globe. The vocals from ‘Voyage’ filled the world when it was released in November 2021, and ABBA is now the first group to achieve number one albums in five different decades in the United Kingdom.

One of the two female singers in the group, Agnetha Fältskog, noted that “Björn came up with the idea of making four digital versions of ourselves. I stepped into the room where they had the ABBAtar machine. I moved my lips and my hands exactly as I’d done on the tours. It was eerie to look at my ABBAtar and see her do it too. ”

One of the principal songwriters of the group ABBA, Björn Ulvaeus, said the following: “We are dressed as our young selves even though this performance was recorded 39 years ago because we were supposed to look as if they are alive today and have never disbanded. ” He further said, “Today even though we are old, I can say that our avatars look very realistic—they look younger, aren’t they?

Thus, for fans of ABBA all over the world, September 1st is the day to get tickets to this groundbreaking, unique concert phenomenon. ABBA is one of the most popular bands of all time, with album sales exceeding 400 million copies; therefore, tickets are expected to sell out. If one wants to attend any of the shows, it is advisable to pre-register on Ticketmaster and be alert at 10 AM GMT when tickets are released.

It appears that after years of absence, the Swedes are preparing for their comeback, in digital style no less, in the following spring. The innovative concept of the “ABBA Voyage” show, supported by the technological advances of today, combined with all of ABBA’s music, can only speak about the popularity of the show. Get your dancing shoes on and prepare for the next May show at the ABBA Arena, which will be “Thank You For the Music”.

This has been a brief look at some of the information you currently know regarding one of the most eagerly anticipated concert events in recent memory: the 2023 ABBA Voyage residency show. From today’s imminent ticket sale to what the audience will experience in terms of the futuristic show with robots known as ABBAtars, anticipation is growing fast.
