Swedish pop legends ABBA will release tickets for their 2023 Las Vegas-style concert in London this week. The concert will be called “ABBA Voyage,” come with a live 10-piece band and be performed at the ABBA Arena in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
ABBA had first unveiled the residency show back in 2021 and has now shared that the tickets for the show will go on sale this Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 10 AM GMT. Through motion capture and performance, holograms of 1979 Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny, and Anni-Frid will appear on stage with the band. The technology was developed with the help of four members of ABBA to come up with what they refer to as ABBAtars to perform when the band was at the pinnacle of its glory.
George Wood, CEO of Brit List Entertainment Ltd., which is handling the production of the show, said, ‘The ABBAtars are evidence of the kind of digitization and motion capture, the skills, talents, and details that were paid by everyone in the team that worked on it. ’”
The creators of the show are former members of ABBA and it will include many of the band’s hits, such as “Dancing Queen”, “Mamma Mia”, and “Waterloo”, as well as songs from the band’s 2021 album “Voyage”. The members of ABBA were actively involved in the creative process of the show, although the motion capture process used to create the avatars of the band members required the band
The show is slated to begin on May 27, 2023, with performances six times a week, with Wednesday and Saturday performances being the matinee performances. It reported that the limited run is likely to end by early 2025. It is stated that ticket prices vary between £21 and £175 for every seat per performance, and there are 1054 seats per performance.

I stepped into the room where they had the ABBAtar machine. I moved my lips and my hands exactly as I’d done on the tours. It was eerie to look at my ABBAtar and see her do it too. ”
One of the principal songwriters of the group ABBA, Björn Ulvaeus, said the following: “We are dressed as our young selves even though this performance was recorded 39 years ago because we were supposed to look as if they are alive today and have never disbanded. ” He further said, “Today even though we are old, I can say that our avatars look very realistic—they look younger, aren’t they?
