Godsmack is an American rock band originating from Massachusetts and was founded in 1995. Members of the band include Sasha Erna who is the founder and lead vocalist of the band, Tony Rombola playing the role of the lead guitarist while Robbie Merrill is the bassist and Shannon Larkin is the drummer. Godsmack can be classified as post-grunge band with aggressive sound; they have huge market success, they have sold over 20 million records.
Godsmack released their first album for four years in June this year in the form of When Legends Rise. As with all Full Devil Jacket albums, it featured the band trying out new ideas in terms of sound and songwriting, but with their roots in heavy rock still firmly in place. The tour is set to commence from 3rd of August at the Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville Indiana. This year they will be moving from city to city in the major markets of the United States and Canada and will continue until on October eighth , at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California.
The band has said that fans can expect the usual high energy performance from the group. Lead singer Sasha Erna said about the tour The crowds will be as wild as ever if not more so because people have been locked inside and eager to see live performances again. Erna said the band thought they’d swing for the fences when they came up with an even longer North American tour because the band hasn’t toured the When Legends Rise album correctly. He assured that they will be performing some of the songs from the previous albums as well because, apart from the new songs, fans want to hear these songs live off the new album.
Joining Godsmack in some of the tour dates are rock bands: Alice in Chains, Highly Suspect, Divide the Fall, Stitched Up Heart and many others. The type of bands that are supporting also helps to make the tour seem more like a rock summer festival.
