    When Grouplove Concert Tour?

  • Grouplove is an American indie rock band that began in 2009 featuring Hannah Hooper as the lead vocalist, Christian Zucconi as the guitarist and co-vocalist, Andrew Wessen as the guitarist and keyboardist, Daniel Gleason as the drummer, and Benjamin Homola as the bassist.

This band began by independently releasing their first EP in the year 2010 later signing for Canvasback Music/Atlantic Records; the band started gaining popularity when their song ‘Colours’ was used in an iPod commercial. Their debut studio album titled “Never Trust a Happy Song,” dropped in 2011 and charted at number 75 on the Billboard 200 which further increased the band’s fame. For sounds of rock, pop, and electronic, the band produced superb tracks with great choruses that were easy to learn and sing along.

After releasing their first album, Grouplove continued to tour for several years, gaining even more popularity. Their touring included appearances at music festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, and Outside Lands, and the band’s headlining tours in North America, Europe, and Australia. The band began to be known for their energetic performances where fans were invited to dance and be merry. Among the characteristics of the concerts by Grouplove, the reviewers often spoke about the positive mood that dominated the performances and the enthusiasm of the band.

Grouplove released their third studio album, “Big Mess,” in September 2016 and this one has a slightly darker tone compared to the previous albums. To promote the album, they started going on the Big Mess Tour which comprised more than 60 shows across the United States, Canada, and Europe between October 2016 and June 2017. The Big Mess Tour included the band performing at venues that were some of the biggest of their career such as the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco or The Vic Theatre in Chicago.

Returning to the road after a short hiatus, Grouplove began the Colors Tour in August 2018 as co-headliners with indie pop band, The Knocks. The co-headlining tour began at amphitheaters and theatres across America and Canada up to early October. From a statement by Grouplove, the Colors Tour is described as a ‘‘sonic and visual explosion…that will stimulate all of the senses in ways concerts rarely do. ’’ Fans could look forward to unique renditions of favorite songs and tunes as well as some covers in collaboration with The Knocks.

For their latest album titled ‘Healer’ which was released in March 2020, Grouplove had lined up a tour across North America and Europe in 2020 and 2021. But, unfortunately, because of the coronavirus, most of the Healer Tour dates have been rescheduled so far. Right now, the band has only eight live gigs listed for the year – seven shows across America from August to October 2021 and Madrid’s Mad Cool festival in July 2021.

During the tour rescheduled for Summer/Fall 2021, audiences are likely to hear live performances of “Healer” songs such as “Youth” and “Promises” included alongside other well-known songs from Grouplove’s discography. The shows will offer the same high-octane, togetherness feeling that has defined Grouplove concerts in the last decade.

Unfortunately for Grouplove, the 2020 touring plans for the band had to be canceled, but the band remains optimistic that they will be able to promote “Healer” aggressively through live performances once the Covid-19 pandemic is over and touring can resume. As of now, the only way for the fans to witness Grouplove’s emotional performances will be to attend one of the few performances that they have scheduled up until next year.

As Grouplove is known as a great festival act and as they have experience touring around the world after new album releases, one can expect that more tour dates will be announced as global conditions permit. Grouplove authentically appreciates performing live and engaging with their audience, so they are sure to be looking forward to performing on stages near and far when the situation warrants it. Their concerts have turned into communal gatherings with tracks that promote togetherness making any possibility of witnessing Grouplove live a chance not to be missed by their fans.
