    When Is Bob Seger Touring?

  • Bob Seger Tickets is a famous Detroit rocker behind such masterpieces as “Old Time Rock and Roll,” “Night Moves,” and “Against the Wind” who has been active in the music scene since the 1960s. Seeing as Seger is in his late seventies now, people still want to know whether or not he will embark on another tour.

Seger’s last concert tour was in 2019, and his tour spanned for two years up until the last show. Labeled the “Travelin’ Man Tour,” it featured Seger playing at major venues across North America to exhilarating, sold-out arenas and amphitheaters. For his fans, it was the last hurrah for the tried-and-true rocker-as-superhero. Towards the end of the tour, Seger hinted that he was ready to spend less time touring.

“I would like to spend more time at home and with my children, especially the young ones,” Seger said towards the end of December 2018 when he was announcing the last dates of the tour. It is part of the argument that my family has suffered a lot in the past few years.

As we begin the year 2023, the question is: will there be another Bob Seger tour in the near future? But there are some reasons to stay alive, which fans, as per their tradition, try to find.

First of all, Seger has not ruled out the possibility of performing live again in the future. Since the conclusion of the Travelin’ Man Tour, he has suggested in interviews that he could possibly do a few shows or a short stint if it is logistically possible. He’s specifically pointed at the possibility of a string of shows in his preferred state of Michigan.

There were also rumors that Seger might be performing at the halftime show of the 2023 Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona. While it appears that negotiations did not culminate in a go-ahead, it reveals that the promoters still have intentions of having Seger perform on big occasions.

Of course, in recent years, Seger has suffered ailments such as spinal surgery that could turn a tour at his age into a nightmare. He would undoubtedly have to think about doing fewer and shorter shows than he was accustomed to before.

But we’ve observed The Eagles and Elton John performing “one last time” tours in their 70s, satisfying the public with more voice- and instrument-oriented performances. Maybe Seger could do something like that with a tight, stripped-down four- or five-piece band.

Irrationally perhaps, but then again, quite realistically too, Seger does not appear to mind leaving the perpetual touring behind after fifty-plus years on the road. He has already established himself as a live performer, with platinum records and a track record of generation-defining hits to his name. If she were to appear again, it would probably only be at special events rather than a proper concert tour.

At least for the year 2023, it seems almost impossible to have a tour. However, die-hard Bob Seger fans can still hope that this Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee takes the stage once again, if only to perform a few more shows in his home town of Detroit.

Apart from that, fans can also listen to Seger through albums, radio classic tracks, or streaming services. The fans and the generations to come will continue to sing these memorable songs, and that I believe is true, whether Seger tours again or not. For diehards, his voice and music remain forever as a tribute to Michigan’s favorite son of music.
