    When Van Morrison Concert Tour?

  • Van Morrison Begins His Concert Tour In 2023

Northern Irish rock and roll legend, Van Morrison is set to tour the world in concert in 2023 where he is expected to take his fans through a prodigal mix of rock, blues, folk, jazz, and Celtic styles. This ‘Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’ is 77 years old but still very active in the studio, composing songs, recording, and performing new music often while also doing his ever-popular hits.

Morrison plans to start the 2023 tour on January 28 at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California. He will perform two more Southern California shows and then travel to Las Vegas on February 1. The tour resumes after a week on February 9 in Austin, Texas, and then moves to Grand Prairie, Houston, and New Orleans. Morrison always tries to adapt the set list to accommodate the particular atmosphere of the cities he is in so while you will hear classics such as ‘Brown Eyed Girl,’ ‘Domino,’ and ‘And Wild Night,’ there will also be some surprises and perhaps some tracks that Van the man hasn’t played for quite some time.

The North American part will be over on March 4th in Chicago, but Van the Man will be hardly able to take a break as he is going to perform overseas. His European tour begins in the UK on the 17th of March with a live show at the First Direct Arena in Leeds. Among the following points, performances will be held in such cities as London, Liverpool, Glasgow, and Birmingham before moving on to Ireland for the concert at 3Arena. Morrison was born in Belfast, and no doubt Irish fans are always in abundance and are equally vocal each time their hero comes back home to play for his country.

After entertaining the UK and Ireland, Morrison plans to move to the European land beginning of April. The existing plan reveals that the tour is planned in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Germany before the last show on May 13, 2017, in Stockholm. With him aware of the fact that he tends to add more cities on the way once inspired, there might be more added in the process. Morrison still has not assembled his touring band for the summer, but it is safe to assume that he will be featuring players such as Jay Berliner on guitar, Andrew Love on saxophone, Joey DeFrancesco on organ, and Michael Ode on drums.

In an era where most performers would be happy to sit back and enjoy their gold, Van Morrison is still searching for new directions. Last year alone he released three excellent albums: The gospel-influenced “How Long Has This Been Going On,” the jazzy “Moving On Skiffle,” and “Ultimate Piano Skiffle” where Morrison plays the harmonica over the piano. Amidst these projects, he managed to release his sixth book of poetry and was even knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his country.

For so many other rock artists, tours present an opportunity to cash in on their past success, but for Morrison, live performances are the perfect way to preview new songs. He swaps over about a fifth of the songs for each night, which are in his repertoire of more than 200 tracks and new ones. The die-hard fans won’t be left out of their favorite hits but will be equally surprised by album tracks and covers of songs from Morrison’s musical inspirations. With such inspiration, he may at a time exits the stage victorious after a grueling two and half hour performance without a set list to guide him.

Van Morrison is still young and active, frequently producing new work, and singing with clarity and enthusiasm; there is no sign that he will retire anytime soon. But because he is currently in his twilight years then the fans are aware that maybe this is the last they will be seeing of his prowess. Should your city make the list of venues for his 2023 tour, or any other tour in the future, do not miss the chance to see a true icon of music who is still capable of delivering his best. Tickets may run out earlier than anticipated, therefore it is advisable to book ahead. And brace yourself for a spiritual musical experience that will remain with you long after the curtain has dropped.
