  • Lead Singer of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs Announces Concert Tour for 2023

Rock band Yeah Yeah Yeahs revealed a brand new world tour in support of their album last year, it is their first one in nine years. The tour is in support of their highly-rated debut album Fever To Tell which has reached its 20th year.

Formed by Karen O as the vocalist and guitarist, Nick Zinner equally the guitarist, the band also had Brian Chase on the drums; the Yeah Yeah Yeahs entered the music scene and stormed it with their debut album in 2003. Famous for their spirited concert performances and mixing of various musical styles, the band was embraced by the indie kids with tracks like Date With the Night and Maps being timeless hits of the alternative rock genre. Their next albums – Show Your Bones, Its Blitz, and Mosquito only broadened the group's appeal over the decade.

Since their break up, in 2013 more specifically, fans have been waiting for that day when the trio would come back. Well, now in 2023, that day has come with an official word about the world tour set for the second half of the year.

The ‘Fever To Tell 20th Anniversary Tour’ is set to commence in the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ hometown of New York City. Besides, concerts in small and medium-sized cities, the band will also perform in such large festivals and arenas in North America and Europe.

Some of the tour dates include Chicago, Toronto, Austin City Limits Music Festival, Shaky Knees Music Festival, Las Vegas, Indio, CA, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, Made in America Festival, Tempelhof Sounds Festival Berlin, Lollapalooza Paris, and finally a headlining show at Londons O2 Arena.

In each city, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are to deliver a perfect setlist including all the songs of their discography. All the favorites such as Maps, Heads Will Roll, Zero, Gold Lion, and many others will be played, alongside songs that may be less well-known or played live before. There are also speculations that some new songs might be performed on the tour as the band recording studio is prepared.

Since they disbanded almost nine years ago, each member has been active with other bands and has also started having children. But there was something that they had that could not be created in any part of the world, and that was the chemistry between them. Once again, Karen O has provided the passionate and unadulterated voice, Nick Zinner the dynamic guitar, and Brian Chase the pounding drums for a concert people have come to expect.

The presale of tickets to the tour has attracted massive interest such that many fans have been left stranded as websites selling the tickets have been overtaken in minutes or sold out instantly in many cities. As anticipated, the fans can still turn out in large numbers to see a band that has been off the road for some time now with major personalities such as Karen O, Nick, and Brian. For those who will be blessed to get tickets, it will be a very cathartic and celebratory concert.

Not only will the shows be a step back into memory lane for many of the faithful, but it could also be a first taste of the band's legendary catalog for the Gen Z youths. Because of such songs as Maps and Heads Will Roll which have been embraced by pop culture, expect a large age diverse crowd. They may even go to the first real rock show with their children.

Aside from acknowledging the Two Decades of Iconic Music, the tour also shows the band's unique relationship with the audience. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have never been a band that craves approval and praise from the critics. Instead, they have always kept the fans first with Karen O even crowd surf during performances during the energy performances. They put all their effort into every note, something that the audience can sense and respond to.

Thus, for both old fans who want to go back to their childhood, and new fans who decided to study the band's discography, the Fever To Tell 20th Anniversary Tour will offer a nostalgic, liberating, and spectacular experience that is associated with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
