Who Is On Tour With Dolly Parton?

  • The tour began with a stellar lineup of artists, including Dolly Parton as the headliner.

The country legend Dolly Parton Tickets will be going on a big North American tour in 2023; it will be the most extensive touring for her in more than a decade. Appropriately called "Dolly Parton: The Legend Continues Tour, the anticipated concert, which is set to go down, is likely to be among the most trending country events of the year. Standing side by side with Parton on stage, there will be quite impressive guest stars; that is why each stop will be an actual musical performance.

Starting in March in Knoxville, Tennessee, which is Parton's birthplace, the tour is planned to last for several months and span over 30 locations in the United states and Canada. Apart from the immortal hits of more than half a century of this amazing singer, Parton will sing songs from the Christmas album released in 2020 and the faith album released in 2021, more than half of which have not been performed by her on stage. She will also perform live as well as entertain her fans with some new unknown songs as she previews songs that are yet to be released to the public.

Several family members of Parton will be involved in the production due to the versatility and talent that they hold. Her talented niece and gifted singer Abigail Dowd is not only performing her own opening shows with her music group every night, but she also backs her aunt up as a vocalist. On the other hand, Dolly's brother Randy Parton, a musician by profession, will be playing guitar and singing backup vocals for his sister during the entire event.

Many prominent artists are also expected to perform their songs during the tour as special appearances. Dolly's dear friend and 9 to 5 co-star Jane Fonda will make several appearances, read poetry, perform comedy sketches and present a never-before-seen sneak peek on how the movie 9 to 5 was made. While her goddaughter Miley Cyrus will also perform a duet with Parton on Jolene and Islands in the Stream.

Besides, Parton has also been able to coax two other music legends to perform with her once in awhile. Singing favorite songs such as Fancy and Whoever's in New England will be the Queen of Country, Reba McEntire, and joining her will be Emmylou Harris to sing about To Know Him is to Love Him. Well, considering Dolly's penchant for gospel music, a special guest preacher is expected to drop by each night to provide that air of religion, or something like that.

Of course, Parton's husband of more than 50 years, Carl Dean, appearing in public would be a big event. Dean is a very shy man who has only a few times in the past three decades attended functions to which his wife was invited. However, Parton has suggested that her beauty may take it upon himself to surprise the audience at least once during this tour, to the delight of some of the lucky attendees.

Parton goes further to ensure other celebrities from Nashville's popular artists will appear randomly throughout the tour's long duration. Some of the people that are slated to perform include Loretta Lynn, Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert, and Kenny Rogers, among others. These stars are capable of providing some of the crowd-popping moments during the concert. Audiences always expect the unexpected when watching a Dolly Parton concert, which has become a favorite pastime for many fans.

Accompanying Parton during tour is an excellent seven-member band that is directed by Gregg Simmons. Simmons has been working with Parton since 2002 to arrange striking concert performances that would feature her most popular hits. Parton's classic duet partners Jennifer O'Brien and Larry Strickland, who have been with her for many years, will add sweet harmonies to Here You Come Again and 9 to 5.

Swimming in sequins, towering blonde wigs, surprise sing-a-longs and slapstick comedy, a Dolly Parton concert is a cross-genre, country/pop/gospel/Old-time mountain music foundational extravaganza. Perhaps that is why Parton is one of the most beloved entertainers across the globe; she knows how to get her fans of all ages and with all sorts of preferences to listen. When she arrived with her family, friends, and a first-rate band, her 2023 tour promised to be the most spectacular one she ever had. From small towns to major metropolises, Dolly Parton: Of course that should come as no surprise, and if you don't have your tickets to see The Legend Continues Tour yet, then you are missing out on the show of the year in country!
