Who Is On Tour With Foo Fighters?

  • The Foo Fighters Tickets are currently on a year-long world tour in North America and Europe for the 10th studio album of the group entitled Medicine at Midnight. The tour began in July 2021 and will continue until October 2022, with concerts scheduled at arenas, amphitheaters, and festivals. On vocals and guitar is Dave Grohl, and together with him are Nate Mendel on bass guitar, Pat Smear on guitar, Taylor Hawkins on drums, and Rami Jaffee on keyboard.

When the Medicine at Midnight tour was first announced in 2021, the tour was going to be with a different opening band in each city. Some of the bands that were selected to open selected shows include Radkey, Beach Bunny, and Honeyglaze. Nonetheless, after the death of their bandmate drummer Taylor Hawkins in March 2022, the Foo Fighters had to postpone all the tours.

The band stated in late 2022 that they will complete the tour with several memorial shows dedicated to Hawkins. The first two concerts happened in September 2022 at Wembley Stadium in London and included Liam Gallagher, Brian Johnson, and Stewart Copeland on stage.

The subsequent dates of the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts are scheduled for the fall of 2022 and will see the Foo Fighters performing across North America. Specific guests will depend on the city, though Grohl has assured fans will recognize the faces to pay tribute to Hawkins. Artists that could be expected to perform with the Foo Fighters occasionally at some of those shows are Alanis Morisette, Miley Cyrus, The Darkness and Hawkins’ other project band, The Coattail Riders. Joan Jett and The Blackhearts were also recently added for opening performances.

Hence, while the Medicine at Midnight tour looks differently than planned beforehand, Foo Fighters fans can still have a lot of guests at all the remaining concerts in 2022. They are meant to honour Hawkins’ life and his music while being more of a marketing tool for the remaining band members’ current record.

Speaking in a recent statement, Grohl noted that the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts enabled the Foo Fighters to pay tribute to their comrade with fellow musicians he respected. The shows also afford fans from across the globe the opportunity to mourn the death of Hawkins through the unifying force of live Rock music.

As for setlists, fans can expect to hear Foo Fighters’ popular songs from various stages of the band’s existence, from the beginning up to the latest single “Shame Shame. ” Some of the favorite songs that should be included in the setlist are Hawkins’ vocal and drumming capabilities, such as “My Hero” and “Learn to Fly. ”

The revolving door of special guests will enable the artist to provide renditions of Foo Fighters’ classics and songs by artists that inspired Hawkins’ drum work. Emotional messages in honor of the deceased musician could be between specific songs.

Of course, it was a loss when Hawkins left the band; however, the Foo Fighters are now continuing and promoting Hawkins’ great music through these tribute shows. The shows provide viewers with therapy and companionship and a chance for fellow rock stars, who knew Hawkins, to give him a send-off. While the Medicine at Midnight arena tour may be over, honoring Hawkins’ life is a natural progression for the Foo Fighters’ narrative.
