Who Is On Tour With Judas Priest?

  • Judas Priest: Announce the 2022 Tour Lineup

The English rock band Judas Priest Tickets has unveiled their line-up that is set to perform at the 2022 tour. The British band was formed in 1969 in Birmingham and despite several changes in line up within more than 50 years of their career, the band has earned the status of being one of the pioneers of heavy metal music. It consists of Wendy Dio and Tony Iommi with their dual-guitar attack and has been a metal influence since the 1970s due to Rob Halford's powerful vocals and their outrageous leather costumes.

However, for their 50 Heavy Metal Years Tour, Judas Priest has finally collected a legendary lineup. The concert is said to be one of the best ever, with a comprehensive list of songs to be performed live throughout the career. Here is a look at who will be joining Judas Priest on stage:Here is a look at who will be joining Judas Priest on stage:

    Rob Halford (Lead Vocals)

Over the last four decades, Judas Priest has been led by the powerful vocalist Rob Halford from 1973. His four-octave vocal range and the operatic-like style of his voice give his the most recognizable vocal in metal. Halford rejoined the group during the 1990s for other projects but rejoined the band in 2003. Currently at the age of 70, Halford is still able to sing like a great opera singer and can perform an incredible concert. Concerts featuring Judas Priest would not be the same without the presence of Rob Halford, known as the Metal God.

    Glenn Tipton (Guitar)

Completing the legendary twin guitar formation of Judas Priest, Glenn Tipton's solos and rifts incorporated in the band's music have become more or less expected. In 1974, the band accepted Tipton as a member as a guitarist, who has been participating in all their albums except for two studio ones. Despite spending over 40 years as a brilliant guitarist, Tipton retired from touring in 2018 due to Parkinson's disease. Nevertheless, he remains an active band member and is slated for appearances during the tour.

    Richie Faulkner (Guitar)

When Glenn Tipton decided to stop touring, Judas Piret hired Richie Faulkner as their new guitarist. It was challenging for him to follow Tipton but he has demonstrated agility in assuming the tough role. He possesses the chops to trade solos with fellow guitarist Scott Travis and replicate Tipton's intricate guitar arrangements. He was part of the band's live performances from September 2011 and was subsequently hired as a full member the following year when Tipton left the stage. Faulkner helps to bring a young feeling into the team because the other members are already seasoned players.

    Ian Hill (Bass)

It should be noted that to this day, no other member of Judas Priest has been with the band longer than bassist Ian Hill. Hill formed Judas Priest in 1969 and is the only member to have been involved in every single album that the said group has produced. It's not surprising that his bass contributions are simple and do not showboat, as his role is to hold down the bass as the guitars riff. Even at that advanced age, he can still move around the stage with energy that is incredible for someone his age. The 50 Heavy Metal Years Tour is a perfect place to highlight the band's history, and it would be a sin not to invite Ian Hill as a bass guitarist.

    Scott Travis (Drums)

Scott Travis has been a drummer for Judas Priest since 1989, and he has a rapid-fast style of drumming, which is perfect for the twin guitar work of the band. As for the musical performance, alongside the phenomenal rhythms, Travis also provides a great visual show with his long hair flying while he plays drums. In terms of style, he is a progressive musician whose work is based on metal, jazz fusion, and extreme metal. Travis is able to switch between lighthearted Priest songs as well as the heavier ones present in their more recent songs.

    Andy Sneap (Touring Guitarist)

There is no better-known guitarist and producer in the Heavy Metal scene than Sneap, and he is joining Judas Priest on stage during the tour. He had to do so when Tipton was stricken and could not play during the Firepower World Tour. Sneap is a proficient rhythmic and lead guitarist with playing technique borrowed from Judas Priest, thus having a dual guitar approach. Sneap has stated that when Tipton joins the band for some performances, he will switch to performing other guitar sections instead of taking someone else's place. In the live setting, Sneap provides the band with more options, which adds value to Judas Priest's sound.

With the legendary Halford, Hill, and Tipton in the front line and backed up by youthful talents such as Faulkner, Travis, and Sneap, Judas Priest's 2022 tour lineup can be considered one of the epochs of heavy metal. The combination of experienced musicians and new people in the band will offer a great time for both oldtimers" and spectators who are new to the band. Do not miss the 50 Heavy Metal Years Tour to experience an unforgettable live show by Judas Priest in a venue near you!
