When Omd Concert Tour?

OMD reveal more tour dates for the band’s 2023 concert tour.

OMD, the legendary British synthpop band, is going to tour the world in 2023. The tour will cover more than 30 shows in North America and Europe in support of their studio record “Architecture & Morality” released in 2022.

The tour begins in late April of the year 2023 with several shows in the North American region. The band will begin with several shows across big cities such as New York, Toronto, Chicago, LA, and more before commencing their European in May The European tour will include the UK, Ireland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and other countries.

This is the proper world tour for this band since the year 2019. Lead vocalist and co-founder, Andy McCluskey, stated: “We are excited to perform our timeless tracks alongside some of the new brilliant tracks off the Architecture & Morality album to our fans all over the globe We are planning for a spectacular year 2023 tour as it will be the celebration of OMD and its music. ”

OMD began their musical career in 1980 with their debut album, which was, interestingly, self-titled. The debut album included their first big single “Electricity” and set a path for OMD’s polished synth-pop sound. In the subsequent years, OMD went on to record more hits such as “Enola Gay” and “Souvenir” as well as producing timeless albums such as Organisation and Architecture & Morality.

Following the apex of their fame during the 1980s, the band was inactive for much of the 1990s and 2000s as McCluskey and Humphreys established solo careers. They disbanded in 1996 but later regrouped in 2006 as OMD, thus still doing live performances and producing new albums much to the yearning of their fans globally. The album released under the title Architecture & Morality has been considered by critics as being one of OMD’s best.

During the 2023 tour, the listeners will be able to hear OMD perform several of the tracks from the Architecture & Morality album like “Isotype”, “Floaters”, and “Blue Marlin”. Of course, the band will also perform all the greatest hits that generations of lovers of synthpop have grown up with, including “If You Leave”, “Joan of Arc”, and “So In Love”. Audiences will presumably be treated to a live performance that recreates the band’s early period, complete with synthesizers and lighting from the epoch.

When asked about what fans can expect from the concert, Paul Humphreys had this to say “It’s going to be two hours packed with all the time fewer pop hits and synthesizers as we can cram in There will be tracks that people have not heard Live for a long time and we’ll even be including a couple of B-sides that the hardcore fans will love. ”

The 2023 tour will also be remarkable as it will be the first time OMD plays in some cities that they have never visited before. Andy McCluskey said, “We always enjoy discovering new countries during the tour, and this time, we will be playing at some cities in Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia that we have never visited before, and that will be very exciting. ”

Since OMD are pioneer of the synthpop genre that has produced countless bands in the last forty years, the shows should also appeal to both the die-hard fans and those discovering the band’s music. Andy said about gaining new fans “It’s amazing to have teenagers coming up to us telling that they learned about OMD from their parents We seem to be become a family affair”.

Finally, Paul stated, “2022 was undoubtedly a huge year for us with the Architecture & Morality album celebrating 40 years since the release of our iconic third album We are thrilled to now tour the album and new songs in 2023 for fans around the world to enjoy live. ”

Being a band that always tours the world, the new world tour will be in a few months from now and fans of OMD all over the world have a lot to celebrate. Due to the band’s experience in giving great live performances for over four decades and performing new exciting material that has received critical acclaim, the OMD 2023 tour is well on its way to becoming one of the most anticipated concert tours of the year.
