When Passion Pit Concert Tour?

Passion Pit is an indietronica band from Cambridge, Massachusetts, formed in 2007. It has lead vocalist/Actor/ songwriter Michael Angelakos, Keyboards/ Guitarist Ian Hultquist, Guitarist Jeff Apruzzese, Bassist Lucas Newman, and drummer Nate Donmoyer.

Passion Pit produced the ‘Manners’ album released in 2009 which contains the popular single ‘Sleepyhead’ and the ‘Gossamer’ released in 2012 containing the song ‘Take A Walk’. Passion Pit is an American synthpop band that has gained quite a loyal fan base over the course of their 15-year musical career as well as engaging performances.

Following the release of their third album Tremendous Sea of Love in 2017, Passion Pit decided to take a break as vocalist Michael Angelakos focused on his well-being. While the band was dormant over the last five years, Passion Pit’s songs kept amassing millions of streams proving the sustainability of their unique sound.

Passion Pit Reunite and Tour in 2023

To add, in January 2023, Passion Pit posted on their social media platforms that the band is coming back from a 5-year hiatus. Lead singer Michael Angelakos acknowledged that he was in a much better place personally to focus on his health and is now ready to get back with the band and perform.

We saw on the social media accounts that there are hints about the so-called Passion Pit extensive reunion tour across North America and Europe in 2023. Some venues and dates have not yet been disclosed but both posts mentioned that an official reunion tour announcement with tickets available should be coming shortly.

Due to the heavy streaming of Passion Pit and sold-out shows by other indie bands such as Arctic Monkeys, most industry players anticipate massive demands for Passion Pit’s much-awaited reunion tour. Fans should be waiting and alert for the tour details to be announced in order to get the tickets early before other shows in that specific location may be sold out.

Potential Setlist Details

Since Passion Pit has only recently started touring again in 2023 after taking several years off, fans are very eager to know what songs are going to be included in the Passion Pit reunion tour. This might be to perform their debut album Manners in its entirety because it will be fifteen years since catchy songs like “Sleepyhead” were released.

Of course, expectations are high that they will include new versions of major tracks from their other two albums, Gossamer and Tremendous Sea of Love such as “Take A Walk”, “Constant Conversations”, “Lifted Up”, and “Where the Sky Hangs” which have remained popular during Passion Pit’s live performances and on music playlists the last decade.

The band could also use the reunion tour to debut some new songs that they may have composed but were not included in the albums due to some reasons while the band was on a break. But it is never out of the question to have some fun with the covers or some special guests to join the performances during the shows.

In any case, Passion Pit has such an electrifying stage presence and an extensive list of synthpop hits to perform that the fans are bound to dance all night long at any of the passionate reunion shows that the band might stage in 2023 and any subsequent years.

Will the Reunion Tour have new destinations?

Another question that fans might be interested in is whether the tour route would present some new cities that the band has not performed in since the last time.

Of course, the tour will likely include such Passion Pit main markets as New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Boston, where the band developed a large fan base from campus radio play in the 2000s. But with streaming helping their music reach new devoted fans all over in recent years, it would be great to see Passion Pit go to some new places during the reunion tour.

Cities like Atlanta, Houston, Denver, and Orlando have not had Passion Pit headline shows before, but they must have developed a new base that can sustain the headline shows tour. Other cities such as Mexico City, Vancouver, Stockholm, Madrid, and Tokyo also appear to be well suited for Passion Pit’s upbeat indie electro-pop.

To say nothing of many festivals in the US and around the world that probably attempted to hire Passion Pit in recent years while the band was inactive. Since their reunion is already happening, we can predict that some bidding wars are already in the process, especially from big festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Governors Ball, and Bonnaroo to include Passion Pit in the roster for their 2023 performances.

Regardless of where Passion Pit may or may not show up for their recently hinted at 2023 reunion tour, fans know one thing for sure – they can not wait to see the band’s music translated live, whether it’s old fans excited to finally hear the band’s electro-pop anthems in concert, or new fans introduced to the electrifying experience of the band’s synth-pop-rock sound.
