Soja is a reggae band from Arlington, Virginia, United States, and they are planning to perform shows in the 2023 tour supporting their album Beauty in the Silence. The band, which comprises eight members anchored by Jacob Hemphill as the lead vocalist, will be performing across North America and Europe in the following calendar year.
The Beauty in the Silence tour starts on January 12th and features a concert at Philadelphia’s The Met. Soja will be opening this iconic venue for two nights to kick off the tour. After that, they continue traveling to Toronto and then go down south through the middle of the month to Detroit, Chicago, and Minneapolis.
In this case, the travel schedules of Soja reveal that he will be moving around the United States frequently in February and March. Some of the shows include two nights each in Los Angeles, San Diego, and many other places such as Las Vegas, Denver, Austin, and Atlanta. The proof of Soja’s popularity across the US can be seen in that they are able to fill up places like The Fillmore in San Francisco.
Since April 25, Soja has continued the Beauty in the Silence Tour and presents its European part. It will be targeting large markets including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and the Netherlands among others. One of the most exciting moments is expected to be the band's show at the legendary Melkweg Club in Amsterdam. Soja first performed in this venue more than ten years ago when they were a warm-up band for other musicians. Coming back as a headliner is an indication of the group’s progress and achievements.
In June and July, Soja returns to North America for more festivals and amphitheaters. Some of the featured stops are Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, TN, Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI, and Red Rocks Amphitheater near Denver, CO. It has been Soja’s dream to perform at the famous Red Rocks venue for many years. The opportunity to perform as a headliner will probably be one of the most exciting things to look forward to as a band or as a fan on the tour.
Soja continues attending even more festivals in the rest of the summer such as Reggae Rise Up Festival in Florida and the 03405 Festival in Massachusetts. They also perform several concerts across the southern part of the United States including North Carolina, Alabama, and Louisiana in the hottest months of July and August.
For the Beauty in the Silence Tour, Soja performs during September and October when it comes indoors for the fall tour across North America. The band visits many of the locations where they performed in the early years, playing multiple shows in cities such as Chicago, Toronto, Boston, and New York. The fall tour concludes with a massive headlining show at The Anthem in Washington DC on October 28.
The final European tour for Soja takes place in November and December, where they cross the Atlantic one more time. They were to perform in the United Kingdom with several other shows including the ones in Manchester, Birmingham, and Glasgow. The final show takes place in London at the famous Brixton Academy venue. Performing in this nearly 5000-seater venue has been a dream that Soja members have been eager to achieve and this will be a befitting climax to their Beauty in the Silence Tour.
From starting as a band that only performed in small clubs, Soja has grown to fill theaters and some of the largest stages globally. But even with the increase in popularity of the band, it has not changed and remains a band that plays reggae music that its fans love. The Beauty in the Silence Tour is a chance for fans to enjoy their favorite songs and for those who have never listened to Soja before to discover the band. Well, if one has the opportunity to watch any of these shows, it is not something one should pass on.
