When Squeeze Concert Tour?

Squeeze has revealed new tour dates for 2023 with an announcement concerning a new concert tour on July 19, 2022.

Legendary British new wave band Squeeze recently made public a huge concert tour for 2023. Starting the tour in February and playing until August, the band has performances scheduled both in Europe and the United States. Since 2018, this is the band's first extensive tour.

Originally including Glenn Tilbrook, the singer and guitarist, Chris Difford, the singer and guitarist, Jools Holland, the keyboard player, Gilson Lavis, the drummer, and Harry Kakoulli, the bass guitar player, Squeeze developed in London in 1974. Their most well-known songs were "Cool for Cats," "Up the Junction," "Tempted," "Pulling Mussels (From the Shell)," and "Black Coffee in Bed." This English band produced cleverly sarcastic songs with appealing melodies. The band has had several of lineup changes over the years, but Tilbrook and Difford remain the primary writers of the music.

Squeeze broke up in 1982, however, the band re-formed sometimes for records and concerts until officially reassembled in 2007. They released the album "The Knowledge" in 2014 with the style of music they are known for, and they still record songs today. Bassist Lucy Shaw and Squeeze's long-time drummer Simon Hanson will assist Tilbrook and Difford during this 2023 tour.

It begins on February 15 in Orlando, Florida. During the first part of the tour, Squeeze will be performing 24 shows across the southern part of the United States before moving north along the eastern seaboard. Major stops include performances in Atlanta, Nashville, Washington DC, and two shows at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

After the US shows are over in April, Squeeze will be going to the UK and Europe for the shows in May. British fans will be able to watch the band in large concert halls such as the Royal Albert Hall in London and, in addition, in arenas in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, and other cities. More shows are scheduled across Europe, including in Ireland, Germany, and the Netherlands, as well as Scandinavia in August.

In a statement, Glenn Tilbrook expressed enthusiasm about hitting the road again: “This is a big tour for us and we can’t wait to get out there and perform for our fans old and new. People can expect to hear all the Squeeze hits but there will be some surprises as well. After forty years, playing live still means as much to us as it did at the beginning. ”

Considering they suffered from overexposure with hits and powering many an FM radio rotation, Squeeze still has plenty of cherished songs to form the basis of a live set. Audiences might be able to enjoy songs that are performed very rarely even by dedicated fans of this band. The shows appear to offer a comprehensive retrospective of Squeeze’s musical legacy - from their raw, independent beginnings on labels like A&M to their new-wave pop success and then their latter-day songwriting revival.

Considering that Squeeze is known for energetic and exceptionally entertaining shows, the 2023 tour will attract fans of all ages. Their melodious voice is a combination of classic pop, post-punk, and power pop which attracts several generations of lovers. Whether playing their first shows in South London pubs or topping the charts and filling arenas in the 80s, Squeeze has always had a powerful connection to audiences by being very verbally funny and often joyful in their musicality.

All the new Squeeze concert dates are up and tickets for them will be on sale from Friday, January 27th via the band's website and ticket agents. These shows have long legs of fan base support due to the massive discography that the Black Keys have produced, as well as curiosity surrounding their return to heavy touring, which anticipates fast sellouts once tickets go on sale. It will undoubtedly become one of the most popular tours of the next year, so fans of music should not hesitate to buy tickets.

Now after more than forty years, Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford are still some of the most successful and awarded duos of songwriters in the British rock genre. Combining this with their musicianship and high standards in live performances, it will not be surprising that Squeeze remains well-appreciated by critics as well as the audience. This upcoming tour will be another great outing that will serve to remind everyone that over forty years into their career, Squeeze’s concerts are must-see events.
