Originating in Fort Payne, Alabama in 1969, Alabama is an American country with a Southern rock band. Lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Randy Owen assembled it with his cousin Teddy Gentry on bass guitar and background vocals and Jeff Cook on lead guitar, violin, and keyboards. Among the best-selling bands worldwide, Alabama has 21 gold, platinum, and multi-platinum albums, 43 number-one songs on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and total record sales of over 80 million.
Having been in the music business for fifty years, the band is on their 50th anniversary tour together. Starting in January 2022 and projected to finish in December 2023 with over ninety events scheduled for the next months Alabama is not just any group; rather, it is a highly successful one with members of the Country Music Hall of Fame; nonetheless, there are fans eager to see them tour once more and go through their number of hit songs.
The band has always garnered great support from its fans, hence multiple Alabama 2023 events are set to take place largely across the southern and midwestern regions of the United States. Over the next two weeks, they are scheduled to present concerts in Birmingham and Huntsville respectively in their state of Alabama. This year the band will also be touring many Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Texas, Kansas, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan locations.
Future additions of interest could also include these. The band's southern base suggests that additional dates need to be in Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. And should ticket sales and fan demand not slow down, the group may also think about playing gigs east coast and out west. Still, much of the trip stays in the south and midwest areas for the most part.
