In the past year, during the calendar year or the fiscal year, the band continued to go on tour performing in North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania including Australia and New Zealand. This year alone, Earth, Wind & Fire has more than sixty performances lined up in outdoor pavilions, music festivals, casinos, and arenas across the United States and other countries.
Earth, Wind & Fire began their twentieth22 tour in March two thousand twenty-two with performances in Florida. Some of the dates were in the southern part of the United States while other dates were arranged to hold concerts in California, Washington, Oregon, and even British Columbia. Their summer includes performing in the New Orleans Jazz Festival, the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, and the Radio City Music Hall in New York. Besides, Earth, Wind & Fire plans to perform at such festivals as Minnesota State Fair, Pacific National Exhibition, Vancouver, and Rhythm & Vines, New Zealand.
The twenty-second tour is ongoing up to the end of two thousand twenty-two with dates set in North America in hubs such as Chicago, Toronto, Boston, Philadelphia, and Atlanta. There are also international shows scheduled for Earth, Wind & Fire in Italy, France, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. They have already revealed details of another large-scale tour of North America in the first half of twenty twenty-three. New concerts are constantly being added since the ever-popular Earth, Wind & Fire wants to share their music and continue creating magic with fans worldwide.
A die-hard fan will be in for a treat when they attend a live performance by Earth, Wind & Fire on this tour because the band is guaranteed to play all their popular songs. This is seen in songs such as “September,” “Let’s Groove,” “Shining Star,” “Boogie Wonderland,” and “Fantasy,” which compel people into singing and dancing. Lyriq also sings numbers from their latest studio work, the twenty’s twenty twenty-two, ‘You Want My Love’, and ‘Can’t Hide Love’. A lot of covers pay homage to the founders of funk: JB, Sly and the Family Stone, and George Clinton, the mastermind of the PFunk.
As much as Philip Bailey, Verdine White, and Ralph Johnson have formed part of the concert's fantastic vocals, bass licks, and drum beats, there are other musicians in the band. Braynard Taylor on guitar and Philip Bailey Jr on percussion and vocals perform alongside their fathers. Sheldon Reynolds a well-accomplished musician and producer is responsible for guitars while Larry Dunn who formed part of the original group occasionally plays keyboards whenever he is available. Some incredible horn players provide the funk of the brass to capture the EWF vibe.
Those who are going to watch Earth, Wind & Fire in action must expect an energetic journey through the history of funk, soul, and disco. Through groovy bass lines, wah-wah guitars, keyboard riffs, and the punctuating horns section, Earth Wind & Fire provides music that makes feet want to dance. Combine this with Philip Bailey’s soaring falsetto and the vocal harmonies of the group, and you’ve got yourself a hit. Alas, Maurice White is no longer with us, but his spirit and the musical idea for Earth, Wind & Fire continue to live on with the band.
The huge selection of upbeat songs that EARTH, WIND & FIRE possesses along with their musicianship makes for incredible performances. They perform in concerts with a mixture of spirited dances and elaborate slow songs, thus satisfying the crowd’s expectations. Ever since then, the band has been entertaining millions through their albums but seeing them live is a whole other level of the Earth Wind & Fire experience. If you desire to dance to familiar tunes with a group of musicians for whom the joy of performing is as evident as the audience’s, then the current world tour of Earth, Wind & Fire is just what you need.
