When El Debarge Concert Tour?

El DeBarge Getting ready for the most awaited comeback tour.

R&B legend El DeBarge is to embark on his first high-profile tour of North America for more than a decade this summer. The singer who began his career as the falsetto-voiced lead singer of the family R&B/funk group DeBarge in the 1980s and later enjoyed even greater success as a solo artist has suffered from substance abuse problems and disappeared from the music scene in much of the last twenty years. Having lost the best years of his life to drug and alcohol abuse and with new music on the way, the man behind countless hits is eager to get back into the spotlight and remind everyone of his incredible live shows.

The headlining tour is planned to traverse more than forty cities in the USA and Canada within June-October. DeBarge and his band will be performing his famous hits such as Time Will Reveal, Rhythm of the Night, Who’s Holding Donna Now, and All This Love as well as new songs in the pipeline for his fifth studio album that is expected to be out this year. Based on his electric performances in shows such as Verzuz and the BET Awards this past year, fans can look forward to rousing shows featuring smooth singing, groovy instrumentation, polished dance moves, and a whole lot of personality.

Listeners who were once teenagers and are now adults who have been fans of DeBarge from their childhood will be looking forward to listening to those hits performed by the man himself. But older listeners are every bit as likely to be completely captivated by the timeless appeal of one of music’s true great performers. Even now with the voice that remained as strong, clear, and resonant as it was in the 1980s, as he proved on his 2021 covers EP with rapper Jadakiss, DeBarge can make three decades vanish in thin air the moment he starts singing.

I can think of a few musical artists who immediately summon up the Reagan decade – DeBarge songs simply do sound like nothing else, that glistening electro-infused melody-driving thing. But if recent appearances and singles are any indication, the performer has intelligently decided to add a modern touch (but not a complete makeover) to his retro look. Synthy will probably readily blend with today’s hi-tech production qualities and contemporary R&B elements may well feature alongside saxophone riffs, funk guitars, and high-pitched voice.

Of course, El DeBarge first tasted success as a member of the family music group DeBarge which comprised of his siblings Mark, Randy, Marty, Bunny, and James among others, and enjoyed record success in the mid to late 1980s. As backup singers for iconic artists like Gwen Guthrie and rock band Cheap Trick, El and company grooved R&B, soul, funk, and pop into one on I Like It, Love Me in a Special Way, Rhythm of the Night, and Time Will Reveal. When he went solo In 1986 El demonstrated that he could more than make a good ‘stand on his own’ with hits that were even bigger including the torch ballad All This Love the dance-a-thon Who’s Holding Donna Now and the anthem for Quiet Storm You Wear It Well.

However, years of substance dependency brought misfortune to the outstanding performer, resulting in arrests and imprisonment that slowed down his meteoric rise to fame. However, after managing to defeat his demons at last, he has been performing shows and appearing in public for the past several years, more often with his sister Bunny as a partners. 2023 is set for the complete comeback of El DeBarge as a mainstream headline artist it again – this time he is older, wiser, healthier, and as you would have guessed – gifted with an almost otherworldly vocal prowess and stage charm that was evident when he first emerged on the music scene many years ago.

To those who grew up with music in the 80s, few artists symbolize the decade quite like El DeBarge. Heard him back on the road with his repertoire of timeless pop-R&B hits, it would be another heart-warming, time-warping affair. And a whole new generation of fans is also now poised to discover the magic of ‘Harry Potter’. He anticipates a high demand and thus, advises fans interested in seeing DeBarge perform live not to miss out on the comeback tour’s on-sale date.
