Eric Clapton is widely considered one of the greatest and most influential guitarists in the history of music. Yet still, Clapton has had quite an impressive career which includes having been awarded 18 Grammy Awards and being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame thrice; once as a solo artist, once as a member of the Yardbirds and once as a member of the Cream. Clapton has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an honor that no other artist can boast of as having been bestowed on him thrice.
Clapton is still traveling in his seventies and giving amazing shows to his fans, but, at the time of writing this piece. Starting in September 2021, his most recent trip concluded in June 2022. Clapton performed on this tour in the United States of America and several areas of Europe.
The 2021–2022 Tour of Clapton Beginning with his time in Cream, the newest Clapton tour includes songs from his whole career in its repertoire. Along with songs from the albums less recognized, he sang all of the band's best-known tunes like Layla and Wonderful Tonight as well as blues tunes. Usually lasting two hours, the performances were a sight to see Clapton performing the slide guitar, electric guitar, and acoustic guitar.
Starting on September 13, 2021, the tour consisted of six Madison Square Garden shows in New York City. After touring Nashville, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and other cities around the United States, he then proceeded to Europe in May 2022.
Among the gigs in this section of the tour were ones at the O2 in London, Glasgow, Dublin, Milan, and Amsterdam as well as the Royal Albert Hall. Clapton's tour was, as predicted, filled with exceptional performances that won over both fans at every venue and reviewers.
Range of Setlists: Blues Covers to Classic Hits Clapton modified his selection every night, like on past trips, therefore allowing many songs to be performed. Apart from the popular songs, he performed additional blues masterpieces and rarities even though Cocaine and Layla were regularly on his setlist.
Interesting sets for the most recent tour featured classics like Golden Ring and My Father's Eyes as well as other favorites like Badge and Let it Rain. Globally acclaimed blues guitarist Clapton sometimes performed versions of Little Queen of Spades and Traveling Riverside Blues.
Of course, such eternal hits as Wonderful Tonight, Tears in Heaven, and Layla are necessarily performed at each concert; Clapton used them as often as possible. Fans possibly even the occasional ones would identify and hum the tune to Derek and the Dominos hit Layla every time it came in towards the end of the set. As a rule, after a brief intermission, he would perform that song to finish a show.
Upcoming 2023 Tour Dates Clapton continues to demonstrate that he is far from winding down any time soon. After the successful completion of the 2021-2022 tour, he has already planned for more live performances in 2023. His newly launched world tour guarantees to give the same energetic performance as his shows are famous for.
The 2023 tour resumes again in the United States on February 17 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. In total 16 shows in the US per month including two more concerts in Madison Square Garden. Hear will also take Clapton to Atlanta, Nashville, Houston, and other places before the American tour ends in San Francisco on March 17.
Clapton then returns to the States for a European summer tour. From June 22 – July 9, 2023, he will perform in a series of concerts in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, and other countries with both, arenas and festivals. Currently, the last show in the currently planned tour is Dublin on July 9, although there can be more dates added to the list.
Since Eric Clapton is one of the most iconic and popular musicians of all time, and since his discography includes several hits and album tracks, his concerts are enjoyed by people of different age groups, from the older generation that listened to his music in their youth, to the younger generation that listens to his works and discoveries. His shows always receive high ratings as the 77-year-old fabulous musician goes on performing guitar and choosing the right notes that brought him the status of a rock and roll star. It seems there is no better way to appreciate Clapton’s music than to see him perform live on stage as he does the magic.
