Foster The People Tour Dates – When is the Indie Pop Band Going to Perform Live?
Starting in 2010 with the hit "Pumped Up Kicks," which came third on Billboard Hot 100, Foster The People Originally from Los Angeles, this trio gained a large following from its alternative dance, electronica, and indie pop. Fans right now greatly look forward to the upcoming Foster The People concert tour.
Foster The People premiered their studio album, Torches in May 2011 after "Pumped Up Kicks' release. Commercially and critically, the album was successful for the band with three big hits and a Grammy mention for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for Pumped Up Kicks. The first headlining tour Foster The People undertook was in 2012. They headline big festivals like Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza in the coming several years.
The second studio album of American indie pop band Foster The People, Supermodel was released in 2014. It allowed the band to go on another world tour even though it did not top 20 on the Billboard 200 list and lacked as much appeal as a prior album. Foster The People traveled, filmed, and worked both alone and with other artists during the next four years.
Then, without notice, in June 2017 Foster The People returned with their third studio album, Sacred Hearts Club. Said the band, the album was a "modern electronic take of a psychedelic club record." Due to its easygoing indie pop sound, the band's approach has changed significantly by adding more synths and electronic elements. Additionally implying that Foster The People intended to play at outdoor music events for the record was the timing of Sacred Hearts Club. Along with events like Panorama, Lollapalooza, and Outside Lands in the summer and autumn of that year, the band played a few small venue and acoustic performances in mid-2017.
In early 2022, Foster The People released their fourth studio album titled In the Darkest of Nights, Let the Birds Sing. Guitars are back in play after largely being left to adorn Sacred Hearts Club, which was mostly electronic with synths’ assistance, indie rock that propelled “Houdini” and “Sit Next to Me” and in this newest trio of songs like the previously released “Down” or “Bite My Tongue” featuring Kenny Beats and Clairo, there’s a clear trend of expansion of sound variety. Regarding the book In the Darkest of Nights, Let the Birds Sing, the critiques have been generally positive, acknowledging the protagonists’ emotional openness and creative expression seen throughout.
Now that the pace has gathered steam, getting ready for another Foster The People tour seems inevitable. Having last discussed concerts a few days ago, the band’s social media pages have suggested that concert announcements are imminent. Considering their history of extensive touring every time they release an album, fans can look forward to 2023 tour dates or late 2022 at least.
For fans to guess what the next performances of Foster The People may contain, it is reasonable to expect a setlist that encompasses throughout their career. Songs like ‘Houdini,’ ‘Helena Beat,’ and of course, ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ are played due to their mainstream popularity and the way they sound when played on stage. Expect more recent tracks from In the Darkest of Nights, Let the Birds Sing to be intermingled with Supermodel & Sacred Hearts Club cuts. Some of the most popular hits that could easily translate to live performances include Sit Next To Me, Lotus Eater, Loyal Like Sid & Nancy, and Style. Back-covers and remixes, in particular, tend to weave their way into Foster The People gigs too.
Finally, fans can predict the next type of venues and locations that will be visited by Foster The People relying on the history of their previous tours. The mid-size indoor theaters and live music clubs have generally performed headlining shows in other big cities in North America which includes Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Toronto, and Mexico City among others. Summer is also involved in routing since the band tends to perform at outdoor music festivals and amphitheaters, particularly in this season. For the most part up until now, Foster The People has kept their concert appearances in North America, sparing some shows in Europe as part of a festival or one or two date visits to Australia or Japan. Another area of growth that seems potentially resulted from the pandemic is broadening their live concerts to other parts of South America, Europe, or Asia.
Some even ask themselves if the next tour may be the last, now that Foster The People has been active for over a decade at this point. All the band members including Mark Foster, Mark Pontius, and Sean Cimino are nearly 40 years old or above. However, in a recent interview about their newest album though, Foster cleared the air about the group splitting up or retiring just yet. Even though he okayed this current chapter of work as being different because of the dynamics of age, the frontman said Foster The People still has “a lot more to say. ”
Considering Foster’s words and the time that passed between two albums which is four years, expectations should only grow as to what is next for the band. All signs indicate that an announcement regarding a Foster The People tour will be coming shortly. Their loyal fans eagerly expect the indie pop trio to take stages across the globe as soon as possible.
