Green Day is one of the most successful punk rock bands in the history of music having actively performed for more than thirty years and actively performing for the past three decades. Green Day was established in 1986 and the band has been touring globally to entertain their fans with songs such as Basket Case, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, and Wake Me Up When September Ends. That being said, the band has not been very active in terms of touring for several years now. This has left many wondering: when is the next Green Day tour?
Green Day's final full-scale tour was in January- February 2017 to support the Revolution Radio Tour, which was unveiled in October 2016. Up to early 2018, it included more than eighty shows throughout Asia, Oceania, Europe, and the Americas. Among other noteworthy achievements were selling out many events at the renowned O2 Arena in London and appearing at well-known events like the Rock in Werchter festival. Green Day has kind of disappeared since then to focus on other projects and take time off to be with loved ones. At the end of 2019, they had a few shows in Asia; however, 2018 was the last official tour.
Well then, when may Green Day return to the grounds for yet another multi-concert performance? Still, there are some hints that the band could perform once again not too far off. Lead vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong said in recent interviews with the media that Green Day is set to tour in 2023. The band members are beginning to feel, he claimed, that they should travel once again with loved ones after the lockdown due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Green Day is also producing fresh music, which usually results in tour announcements to promote newly released tunes.
An announcement regarding the new Green Day album releasing along with a colossal 2023-2024 would be equally good on time, as were some of their previous tours. Usually, the band goes on a tour for 1-2 years promoting the new album, they perform in clubs, theaters, amphitheaters, and stadiums depending on the country. Because their shows remain tremendously popular, a tour announcement at any point throughout the next year would certainly be welcomed with excitement and the tickets would surely sell out fast.
On the next tour that Green Day will go on, fans should be able to look forward to seeing a myriad of songs that the band has released throughout the years, both old favorites and new ones. Combined with Armstrong’s charismatic on-stage presence, exciting renditions of hits such as ‘Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)’ and ‘21 Guns’, and unexpected moments, a Green Day concert is an essential show for any punk enthusiast. And how popular and desired the veteran California band still is nearly three decades into their existence, their next tour will surely be on a lot of “do not miss” lists.
Even though the specific time frame of their return is still uncertain, everything seems to indicate that Green Day should be back on stage again soon. Watch out for their next studio album and corresponding tour, which is expected to be announced in the following months. One thing is for certain though, when Green Day decides to go on tour again, tickets will not stay on the shelves for long. So be ready to buy them quickly before the legendary punk trio performs multiple sold-out concerts in arenas and sheds across the country during yet another blockbuster concert tour replete with hit after hit that will rock the audiences night in and night out.
