The Head and the Heart is an American indie folk rock band originating from Seattle, Washington, formed in 2009. There is Josiah Johnson who plays vocals, guitar, and percussion, Jonathan Russell who plays vocals, guitar, and percussion, Charity Rose Thielen plays violin, guitar, and vocals, Chris Zasche – bass, Kenny Hensley – piano and keyboards and Tyler Williams – drums and percussion. Formed after being introduced through an open microphone event, the group started writing its songs and performing in various clubs in Seattle. Just within one year of their formation, The Head and the Heart launched its first album, the Head and the Heart which had the famous Down in the Valley and Rivers and Roads. The album was well received by the critics and fans soon started to appear and follow the band.
The Head and the Heart have released three additional full-length studio albums after their first one: Let's Be Still, 2013; Signs of Light, 2016; Living Mirage, 2019. They are well-known for their vibrant shows with danceable folk-rock tunes. Over the last ten years, they have been busy on the road: many supporting tours, several festival appearances, and headlining tours around North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. At Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, London's Somerset House, Lollapalooza, Newport Folk Festival, and Coachella they have given some of their most significant performances.
Following the publication of The Head and The Heart, you will be able to see the band play on a 2022 North American tour. The tour's title, Every Shade of Blue, comes from a song on Living Mirage, the band's latest album. Beginning in September in George, Washington, it will have more than thirty shows finishing in November with two at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California. Apart from the band's usual five members, musicians who have collaborated with The Head and the Heart in the past for previous events and albums will be on stage to perform the whole range of the band's songs as presented in their current repertoire from their last four albums.
Dates in Spokane, Boise, and Bend mark the first part of the trip, which takes place in Washington and Oregon. After that, they will go to California performing at Berkeley, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo. The trip then continues to many western and Midwest American cities. Following Salt Lake City, Denver, Chicago, St Louis, and Memphis on the western side, this performance tour will bring the ensemble to Nashville, Atlanta, Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston on the east.
In each city, the band plans to perform familiar older hits – Lost in My Mind, Another Story, and All We Ever Knew, and songs from Living Mirage and Signs of Light.
