Iron Maiden to Take Part in Large-Scale Tour in 2023
Recently, one of the most well-known British bands Iron Maiden disclosed details of their forthcoming 2023 global tour. Comprising North America, Europe, Australia, South America, and Japan, the tour is likely to be among the most grand in the band's more than forty-year existence.
Expected to start in late May 2023, the tour will have concerts throughout North America. Among the major cities this band will be visiting are New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Toronto, and Mexico City. At the end of June, Las Vegas is supposed to see completion of this part of the trip. Iron Maiden will then go to spend the remainder of July without performing before starting their European tour in mid-August in Italy.
The European tour's itinerary for Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, UK, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, and Greece runs up to early October. Iron Maiden will be presenting six gigs throughout the main venues in the United Kingdom's major cities including London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Leeds. They have always been known to reserve the largest events for the home nation.
After the European leg, the Iron Maiden will spend three weeks in November visiting Australia and New Zealand. December will then see a brief South American tour with shows in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Mexico. Iron Maiden will perform four gigs in Japan early in 2024 after 81 appearances in 2023. All in all, the trip will last more than five months on the road with approximately 100 gigs scheduled overall.
Given the band's passion for complex performances, the stage design and all the pyrotechnics the audience will probably see will not let down. Older Iron Maiden fans should be excited about the classics such as Run to the Hills, The Trooper, Number of the Beast, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Fear of the Dark, and extra from their most recent albums.
Except for the years 1999 and 2000 when Smith was not a member of the band, the present members are lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson, bassist Steve Harris, guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, and Janick Gers, and drummer Nicko McBrain. He resumed in 1999. Although each member of the band is over 60 years old, when they are playing they are still very energetic and extremely musical.
Furthermore, most music reviewers and supporters have observed that Bruce Dickinson's praised vocals do not appear to have faded at all over the years and he is still able to produce the same high-pitched vocal screams as he did in Iron Maiden's early years. Iron Maiden concerts are very fun occasions even for those who are not particularly acquainted with the band because of his interaction with the crowd. Of course, founding member Steve Harris's galloping bass lines—which still drive most of Iron Maiden's songs at a rapid pace—have always set down the basis of the band.
The epidemic of COVID-19 caused the seasoned heavy metal band to stop their 2020 tour plans. Early in the band's career, lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson was diagnosed with the illness; happily, he has now totally recovered. The band only visited in 2019 for the Legacy of the Beast tour, when they played many of their less-known songs to the thrills of the fans. After almost four years, the 2023 tour would be the first opportunity for fans from many nations to see Iron Maiden live.
Fans will be hoping Iron Maiden will test some of the new songs on the upcoming tour since the previous studio album was released more than six years ago. Since 2015's platinum-selling The Book of Souls, Iron Maiden has been working on a new album but has encountered many challenges due to Covid-19. Right present, not a lot of details about a new album exist. However, historically many Iron Maiden songs were performed before the release of the matching studio albums, hence there is a possibility that the 2023 concert will include one or two new songs.
After the 2017 release of the mobile game Legacy of the Beast, which had unheard-of success, some anticipate the 2023 tour to be a sequel connected in some form. The 2019 tour included conceptual preparation to fit the game plot. Combining both media approaches on the tour is rather good as it has introduced the band to the next generation of fans.
Iron Maiden's 2023 performance is going to be a true spectacle that will delight both die-hard fans and casual listeners, whether this or any fresh record or game material will resurface in the future. The band still has the same fervor, musicianship, and appeal that distinguished metal bands throughout the decades. These will provide the audience with dramatic stage presentations. With over forty years of musical production behind them and no indication of stagnation in sight, the 2023 tour should remind everyone why Iron Maiden has deservedly earned their spot as one of the most respected and cherished institutions of the heavy metal pantheon.
