Australian-born pop singer, actress, and performer Kylie Minogue entered the music business in the late 1980s. Initially well-known as an actor, she also starred in the Australian serial drama Neighbours. Her singing career got underway shortly, however, and she is now among Australia's most successful performers in history. Minogue made several concert tours to support her studio albums during her long and prosperous career.
In promotion of her second studio album, the Enjoy Yourself Tour in 1990 was her first one. Australia and the United Kingdom hosted the tour. To promote her third studio album, her Rhythm of Love Tour returned the next year in 1991. With gigs booked in Japan, this tour saw her play for the first time in Asia. Launched to accompany Minogue's fifth studio album in 1994, Intensive and Live Tour As the name implies, it was a smaller variation of the preceding one devoid of big facilities like arenas and stadiums.
Impossible Princess was her 1996 album which was followed by the Intimate and Live Tour that was only performed in Australia and England. On her next album entitled Light Years released in 2000, she began the On a Night Like This Tour. It toured Europe and Australia and resulted in her first performance in North America. She came back to the United States and Canada the subsequent year for KylieFever Tour. This was the raunchiest show she had ever given, with beautiful costumes and BACKGROUNDS derived from her THE FEVER ALBUM.
In 2005, Minogue hit the road once again for her Showgirl: The name of the tour is The Greatest Hits Tour. However, due to her breast cancer, she had to abandon the tour halfway through the tour. After recovering from surgery and treatment, she resumed the tour the following year with Showgirl: It was called the Homecoming Tour. This tour was very emotional for both Minogue and the fans as it was a return to live performing for the singer. The tour spanned Europe and Australia and concluded at the Wembley Stadium, London – an arena.
The album X was followed by the KylieX2008 tour that covered Europe, Asia, and Australia. This was succeeded in 2010 by the North American For You, For Me Tour in promotion of her Aphrodite album. The following year, 2012 she began the Anti Tour which was more of performances in Europe, Asia, North America, and Australia. In 2014, she embarked on her Kiss Me Once Tour, where she returned to some of the intimate theaters across Europe. The next year she embarked on her Kylie Summer Tour in Europe and toured North America in a touring partnership with her sister Dannii Minogue.
In 2018, Minogue achieved another career highlight with the Golden Tour for her country-pop-inspired album Golden. It was also her largest tour to that point with 53 shows. The tour started in Asia after which it moved to Australia and New Zealand before proceeding to Europe where they played more festival and arena shows in summer. The tour ended with Minogue giving her first concerts ever in South Africa and Singapore followed by the last concert at Atlantis in Dubai. Critiques were positive on the aspects of self-acceptance, strength, and women’s rights which were portrayed in the show.
In the summer of 2019, Minogue embarked on a summer concert series and festivals across Europe within Summer 2019 performances. She also sang in some New Year’s Eve shows in Australia. Her subsequent album Disco was set to kickstart a worldwide tour in 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic that broke out in March 2020, those plans were halted. Nonetheless, Minogue will perform live again in 2022 through her Magic Tour.
The next tour starts with 12 consecutive performances to her home crowd in Melbourne, Australia. It will then move to Australia and then to Europe in the spring. The current schedule involves halting at arenas within the large cities in the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe. If more dates are added further on, fans may see Minogue moving to other locations such as North America. Regardless of the destination, the Magic Tour will take the fans through, the audiences are surely in for an electrifying spectacle of the dance-pop diva’s greatest hits and showstoppers.
As this talented singer and performer moves past her third decade in the music industry, she continues to perform live for fans without any pause. While it is always possible to change the tour plans, her concerts are always a sell-out regardless of the new album or project she is promoting. One can only hope that the planets will align and the audiences across the world who have waited will be allowed to watch Minogue perform on stage shortly.
