Matisyahu reveals new concert tour dates for the year 2023
Reggae singer Matisyahu, an American Jewish artist, has recently revealed that he will be undertaking a new concert tour in 2023, the first multi-concert tour in three years. The talented singer who has produced songs such as, ‘One Day’ and ‘King Without a Crown’ is expected to commence the tour in late February and will perform in more than 30 American cities in the following months.
Entitled the Light Tour 2023, Matisyahu will be performing his reggae, hip hop, and rock music across venues big and small as he tours the country. It will be his first national concert tour since “Express Yourself Tour” back in 2019 which followed Undercurrent released in 2018 It remains unclear whether Matisyahu will be touring to support an album as he has done previously.
Matisyahu initially gained fame in the mid-2000s as an Orthodox Jewish reggae artist who added a fresh perspective to the genre. The release of a live album in 2005 titled “Live at Stubbs” showcased his ability to perform in an improvised format and effectively broadened his appeal past his initial fanbase. His track “King Without a Crown” was one of his famous tracks that mixed religious and self-reflecting lyrics with cheerful reggae beats.
In the following decade, Matisyahu developed his style further and was able to build a fan base across the globe. Apart from the records and concerts performed by him individually, he has worked in many instances with other reggae artists such as Rebelution and Stick Figure. He has also tried his hand at acting performing guest spots on TV and minor roles in films like “A Miracle on Christmas Lake” in 2017 but it is his impressive live performances that continue to lure fans in.
The next tour will be called the “Light Tour 2023” and it is going to reintroduce Matisyahu’s fan base to this energy-filled concert vibe after a rather lengthy gap between the tours. Pre-production starts February 21 in Cincinnati, Ohio with plans to shoot in major cities including Nashville, Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia & more through early spring. He will be on the West Coast in May with some of the major stops being LA, Phoenix, Seattle, and Portland among others. The tour is currently scheduled to end in Dallas on June 14.
About 33 concerts will take place in mid-size halls for audiences of around 1,000 to 2,500 people, which is appropriate for Matisyahu’s headlining performances. Tickets are currently available on his site for most of the dates, which are $30 to $60, on average, depending on the location. As with any Matisyahu show, fans can expect a set of songs from various albums, with long instrumental solos that showcase his remarkable band. It’s impossible not to expect the fans’ top hits to be included in the setlists each night.
In addition to this newly announced “Light Tour,” Matisyahu has a other few festivals and other shows scheduled for 2023 as well. This includes being the artist on the main stage at the BeachLife festival happening in California this May and featuring other artists such as Weezer and The Smashing Pumpkins. Well, West Coast fans have an opportunity to see one of his shows twice this spring.
In total, the current first major concert tour of Matisyahu in several years will certainly attract much attention from the fans who are interested in his new activities. The spirited tunes that possess his music and the positive message that he advocated for are as impactful to this date, with new-age reggae lovers discovering his music. This line of shows starting in February has him on course to connect with both previous fans and new ones every time he performs in a city.
It is a great chance to once again get the unique live reggae concert of Matisyahu. Based on what Matisyahu has been delivering in his previous tours, his audience can expect great songwriting, infinite amounts of good vibes, and maybe some more surprises when he starts this crazy-packed performance tour that covers across the length and breadth of America over the next few months.
