Michael W. Smith has recently revealed details of a new Concert Tour.
Renowned contemporary Christian singer Michael W. Smith revealed that he is planning a concert in spring that will cover several states in the United States. The tour, which will be called “Worship Forever”, will see Smith singing some of his popular worship songs as well as some of the songs that are in his latest album.
“I am looking forward to getting back on the stage and sharing with the audience the power of worship music,” said Smith in an interview. I can only think of one somewhat similar thing: getting together with the focus on the sky, lifting our hearts and spirits in praising God’s love and grace – and I do believe that all of us need more of that in today’s world.
The tour begins on March 15 at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, and ends on June 5 in Nashville, Tennessee, Smith’s hometown. Some of the cities that it passes through are Dallas, Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York, and Boston.
Smith will be accompanied by the entire live band and assured of organizing and staging exciting and positive events with music, singing, prayers, and encouragement to spirituality. Besides worship concert experience to the congregation, Michael is working with his team to ensure that before the shows they offer service to the local communities through ministries.
“I want people to understand that I do not want these nights to be only about what goes on on the stage,” he proclaimed, “We are going to go out to cities before our concerts, roll up our sleeves, and serve with ministries that seek to address the physical needs of hurting people. I hope anyone who comes to the shows will join us as we live out the love of God in word and deed. ”
In addition to classics such as ‘Friends’, ‘Agnus Dei’, ‘Breathe’ and ‘Awesome God’, Smith will also sing songs from his newly released album called “Waymaker”. This album was released in late 2022 and is packed with original songs and rhymes with an emphasis on the power and the promises of Jesus.
One of the songs in the album is a single titled ‘Way Maker’ which is a worship song and has been a regular feature in most church playlists and across the country. It has also remained a favorite with its listeners making it appear on the iTunes Christian Songs chart frequently. Smith said that he decided to name the new project after that powerful song that speaks of God’s faithfulness and His ability to perform miracles.
The message of ‘Way Maker’ is that no matter how impossible it seems and no matter how much we cannot comprehend how a way will be made, God always makes a way. He offers hope where there seems to be none. I think we could all use some reminders of that right now with everything going on in our world today. ”
The new tour is bound to include several other hits from the ‘Waymaker’ record. Previews of recent concerts indicate that Smith is writing new original pieces such as “Symphony of Praise,” and “God of Miracles,” as well as revisiting previous hits “10,000 Reasons” and “Great is Thy Faithfulness. ”
