When Psy Concert Tour?

PSY Releases More Dates For World Tour

Korean pop star PSY who had risen to fame through his “Gangnam Style” dance has revealed his intentions of going for a world concert tour early next year in 2023. The man behind the international pop sensation “Gangnam Style” and the dance hit “Gentleman” is set to perform his first international tour since his 2013 “Happening” tour, which signals a huge return of the man who once took the world by storm.

It is planned to start the tour in Seoul in November of the next year, 2023. PSY will be doing several shows in his home country before touring Asia, North America, Europe, and other parts of the world with his unique blend of K-pop. Since previous tours, fans can expect hilarious and extravagant performances, wild eye-catching graphics, and, of course, spectacular outfits and dance moves of PSY.

It will also be the first time the singer has taken the stage in nearly five years. His last world tour to support the 2017 “4X2=8” album was only several dates in Asia and ended early due to COVID-19. He was planning to perform on a tour in 2020 but had to cancel the event. But 2023 will witness the favorite entertainer performing the kind of job he is famous for – dancing and cracking jokes.

Although official schedules for the full tour have not been announced, PSY is likely to unveil parts in major cities in Asian countries such as Japan, China, Singapore, and Thailand, among others. They have also been informed that he is considering having multiple shows in Australia, and Europe, and more than a dozen shows in North America. This will be his most extensive world tour in over a decade.

This unnamed tour is believed to assist in the marketing of the upcoming album which is PSY’s first full studio album since 4X2=8. Alas, information about the new album is rather limited, but it is safe to assume that the album will contain more of the same music that has made PSY popular – pop, hip-hop, and EDM. PSY brought Korean pop music into the international arena with his 2012 worldwide hit single ‘Gangnam Style’ which made history by becoming the first YouTube video to reach 1 billion views. Ten years later, the tour is set to bring listeners back to the time when K-pop was just breaking through and introduce fans to the next chapter of K-pop legend.

PSY is well-known for his energetic and rowdy style of performing at concerts. And, of course, no festival would be complete without horse-riding dances, crowd surfing, outrageous costumes, random celebrities, and various unexpected shenanigans. This tour will be PSY’s opportunity to demonstrate that he possesses the steps that caused a global dancing trend and to explain why almost no other K-pop solo artist has remained so popular and influential to this day.

Given that it has been a decade since the last international tour and with the now 45-year-old megastar not announcing how much longer he will be on the road, fans would be foolish to not catch PSY while he is still at the apex of his pop culture popularity. Tickets will sell out faster than singing the popular “Oppan Gangnam Style” and therefore, there should be more announcements in the following months leading to the landmark comeback world tour. One thing is clear though; PSY is ready to get the whole planet dancing again.
