Taylor Swift begins her much-awaited Europe tour with a concert in Paris
American pop singer Taylor Swift thrilled her fans when she started her much-hyped European tour with style in Paris on Saturday night. During the concert, a sold-out performance at the Stade de France, the 32-year-old singer took her fans through her award-winning discography, including some songs from her latest record-breaking album Midnights.
Wearing a sparkly black and purple bodysuit and knee-high boots, Swift kicked off the two-hour concert with Anti Hero from her recently launched album. Throughout the concert, she had fans standing and singing word-for-word to her popular songs, such as Shake It Off, Love Story, I Knew You Were Trouble, and Blank Space. At different points in the night, there were costume changes that involved sparkling bodysuits, which were purple, blue, and silver.
Highly Illuminated Lights And Fireworks
As is expected from one of the world's top entertainers, the production value was off the charts. Strobe lighting, complex costumes, fireworks, and moving stages took the audience into Swift's universe for the night. Once, she went backstage and came back immediately carrying a large poodle, and then, seemingly out of nowhere, she was lifted onto a platform and sang Anti-Hero.
Some Of The Popular Songs That She Has Recorded Throughout Her Musical Journey
Though relying mainly on her fresh Midnight music, such as Lavender Haze, Maroon, and Snow On The Beach featuring rapper SZA, Swift performed all her beloved French hits. She even returned to her 2006 self-titled debut album and sang Should’ve Said No and Teardrops On My Guitar before moving to newer singles such as Cardigan, Willow, and Bad Blood. The audience gobbled up the whole concert given by Taylor Swift as she showcased why she is still relevant in the present and future of the music industry.
Swift Explains The Meaning of Lyrics of Midnights.
The gifted diva shared the themes and feelings expressed on her brilliant tenth studio Midnights between the tracks. She has explained how such albums' moody electronic-influenced sound is an embodiment of her late-night thinking and emotions. Swift took her time to reveal some details of the inspiration behind most of the words and phrases of the songs and this was getting some of her followers closer to some of the most sensitive parts of her life.
She described how Snow On The Beach featuring Lana Del Rey reflects on new love and whether she could compete for it. While, on the other hand, Anti-Hero is Swift giving the world a glimpse of her humorous side as she caters to her apprehensions with the same humor and self-consciousness that millions of people around the world can relate to.
Emotive Rendition Of All Too Well
One of the most memorable moments was the energetic rendition of her 2012 hit All Too Well, which Swift performed with so much passion. The passionate and technically superior 10-minute version present in the re-recorded album of Red that came out the previous year elicited a positive response from the audience. The stage was stripped down, with the singer-songwriter alone on it with her acoustic guitar and singing heart-wrenching lyrics that tell the story of a broken relationship. During the extended bridges, she sang with such passion and raw emotion that one can only write great songs, and she’s living proof of that.
Duet With Phoebe Bridgers
During the performance of the song Nothing New, Swift was joined by another American singer-songwriter, Phoebe Bridgers. The two are seated on stools and then proceed to sing the sad ballad with their folkish voices harmonizing beautifully. Audiences could not believe their eyes and ears when they saw two great performers sharing the stage. Swift took the time to express her gratitude to Bridgers for lending her “incredible talent” to Midnights by calling her one of her “favorite artists ever. ”
Electric Atmosphere
This excitement running through the stadium was a testimony to Swift’s performance as she sang her hit songs to the frenzy of Parisian fans. The young and not-so-young fans were dancing to the music using the rainbow flags and light-up wristbands, they held banners with such inscriptions as I Love You and We Love You for the superstar. The ear-splitting shrieks and euphoric calls for ‘Taylor’ showcased how much of a phenomenon she is today.
When a happy Swift said her last goodbye to Paris after her final dance hit Shake It Off, she was already the mistress of the audience. The breathtaking pop diva demonstrated once again why her acclaimed lyrical skills and enchanting stage performance have placed her on the map for international stardom. By the looks of it, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is poised to be another history-making endeavor from one of the most impactful artists of the generation.
