Founded in Los Angeles, California in 1971, the American rock group The Eagles Originally among the members were Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner. Having sold over 150 million copies of their recordings, they may be regarded as one of the most successful bands in the whole globe during their whole career. They have also published six studio albums. Among their hit tunes are Hotel California, Take It Easy, Desperado, and Life in the Fast Lane.
The Eagles remained dormant for a few years until getting back together for the very successful Hell Freezes Over tour in 1994. They have toured both on and off for a few decades in creating ever since that time. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the LP, their latest trip was from 2017 to 2019 for the Hotel California tour. Vince Gill and Deacon Frey, Glenn Frey's son, backed Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit on vocals and guitar throughout this show. Along with other hit Eagles songs, this show included the whole Hotel California CD.
The band was able to play in filled stadiums and arenas in North America and Europe, hence the Hotel California tour was similarly a success. With about $250 million in ticket sales, it came in third most successful tour worldwide in 2019. COVID-19 caused the tour to be postponed as well; later on, the whole tour was called off in 2020. People have been wondering ever then about whether or not The Eagles will tour once again.
Rumor has it that The Eagles could be getting ready for a 2023 tour honoring the 50th anniversary of their 1973 Eagles album. As of yet, however, the band has not published any formal plans or gigs. Should The Eagles start a 50th-anniversary tour, supporters should be ready for multiple events spread over several months in different locations in the United States and abroad. Other tours we have seen in the past, including Hotel California and Hell Freezes Over, have as many as 60 gigs spanning continents and therefore may have a similar approach. Therefore, considering their past performances, The Eagles would play for various events in cities like Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Toronto, London, Paris, and more.
Among the locations that might be viable 2023 stadium tour sites are those they have often visited: Dodger Stadium, Wembley Stadium, FedEx Stadium, and Fenway Park in Boston. Still, the band keeps selling out venues implying that, should they get back together in 2023, they might stage a big performance.
Another important issue is that the tickets should show up with the dates. Regarding the secondary market, ticket rates would be outrageous given the small seating capacity about the great demand. For fans to guarantee a spot at one of those expected 2023 events, would not be inexpensive at all. For many, however, seeing once again such rock icons as The Eagles in live performances would be money well spent.
Of course, all the above is just speculation until the band itself releases clear tour plans. Many supporters are eager to hear their travel plans for the next years including 2023 and the years after. Some have said that if they do not start tours in 2023, the band is over with it after so many years of live events. Still, it would be foolish to write off The Eagles as long as they can do as many tours as they can, for as long as they can, and at important occasions like 50 amazing years of the band's existence.
