When Yes Concert Tour?

Yes is an English progressive rock band that was established in the year 1968 in London. The band is famous for complex and sophisticated elements of their music such as compositions, lyrics, art of their albums, stage performances, and musicianship. During their existence, Yes was experimenting with various styles, including symphonic prog and art rock, pop, new wave, and more. They are acknowledged as one of the most significant, experimental, and effective prog-rock bands in the entire history of music.

After several changes in personnel in the band's early years Yes’ “classic line-up” was Jon Anderson on vocals, Steve Howe and Trevor Rabin both on guitars, Rick Wakeman on keyboards, Chris Squire on bass, and Alan White on drums. This line-up produced many of the band’s biggest albums including Fragile, Close to the Edge, and 90125. Over the years Yes has gone through many formations, yet they have continued to provide stimulating, innovative, and inspiring music for over half a century.

Yes, in 2022, the band is planning a tour that will commemorate the band’s musical relevance. Titled The Album Series Tour, it will mean that the band will have to play two of the most popular albums at each of the venues. As for the albums, the band will release new records that are inspired by their signature and groundbreaking works. The audience should brace for these legendary albums to be reproduced in an even better way given the enhanced technology and live production techniques.

For the tour, it is planned that the performances will begin in the United Kingdom and Europe starting from May 2022. It is expected to visit cities such as London, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Amsterdam, Paris and many others. During the UK/European portion of the tour, Yes will be playing their 1972 album, Close to the Edge from start to finish. Regarding Yes’ opus magnum and one of the most important progressive rock records, Close to the Edge proved the artistic possibilities of concept suites and the talents of its members Anderson, Howe, Squire, Wakeman, and Bruford. The Album Series concerts will give fans the unique chance to experience this record in a way they never could before.

Following the European tour, will be the American leg of the tour: The Album Series Tour is scheduled for August through October of 2022. The band will perform in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Detroit Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and other important cities. During the US shows, Yes will play through their revered 1971 album – The Yes Album in its entirety. Yes became well known as prog rock hopefuls on this record thanks to the likes of “Yours Is No Disgrace” and “Starship Trooper. ” Listening to The Yes Album live must be a real treat when one is a fan of the band and/or prog rock.

In particular, apart from full concert performances of Close to the Edge and The Yes Album, there may be an intermission and encore section containing other Yes pieces and hits. Thus, the audiences can look forward to classics such as ‘Roundabout’ and ‘Owner of a Lonely Heart’ during the tours. Indeed, all the tunes in the ‘Yes’ set list will be characterized by accomplished musicianship and complex orchestrations. Joining the band on The Album Series Tour will be a hardworking crew of talented audio engineers, lighting designers, stage/set builders, truck drivers, and many others to ensure that the prog rock magic is brought to life on stage.

We are yet to know whether founding Yes member, Jon Anderson would participate in the Album Series Tour. The longtime vocalist had to quit touring with Yes in 2008 over health problems. Anderson has been active in the music scene producing music under other projects including Anderson Ponty Band which features progressive rock and jazz. But fans remain optimistic that the singer will be able to grace a few Album Series Tour performances. Some of the past members of Yes including; Trevor Horn, Trevor Rabin, and Rick Wakeman have, however, been known to grace the band’s stage during past performances. If possible, it would be unique that Anderson, Rabin, or Wakeman appear to sing on one or two of the tracks, as they did on the original album. However, the concerts are capable of eliciting admiration even without such cameos.

With a long list of hard, passionate songs, laser/lights on each song, smoke and fire visuals, and sudden improvisation of the melodies, the Yes Album Series Tour is set to bring back the feel of true prog-rock. Not only will audiences be able to relive the band’s formative records and hear them sound as fresh and pertinent as ever, but they will also be able to see for themselves exactly how progressive, transformative, and timeless Yes’s music continues to be, even over five decades in the making. Therefore, get your secure tickets for a concert in your region and enjoy an excellent prog rock show. Catch Yes this year on The Album Series Tour as they re-create gems such as Close the Edge and The Yes Album for the big stage.
